Trouble installing prodigy

Having trouble installing prodigy.

Sorry you're having this issue.

First try to upgrade pip:

pip install --upgrade pip

pip install prodigy -f https://XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX@download.prodi.gy not working

Thanks for checking! It's possible my version of pip is out of date. If it worked for you, and you found it in your system, then .whl is just fine for me :). I just wanted to make sure it was recorded in your system.

What version of Python are you using?

Older versions of Python don't have wheels set up for the newer version of Prodigy. Last year we released wheels for Python 3.10 and had them for 3.9 and 3.8.

Just released Prodigy v1.11.6, which includes wheels for Python 3.10

Also, what operating system are you using? There can be some hiccups with Mac (M1) too.

If you're using miniforge, then it's probably easiest to install spacy through conda. First create a new environment, then for the current prodigy v1.11, you need spacy v3.1: conda install -c conda-forge "spacy~=3.1.4" Then run the pip install prodigy command with the license key or whl path options.

Hopefully one of those will do the trick. There could be other issues -- you can search by the error message.

its python 3.11 so i should install 3.10 then ? im using windows. i think the problem is my version of python tho

yes! I don't think we have wheels for 3.11 just yet. We likely will add them very soon.

Sorry that the installation is not working.

• Did you create a fresh virtual environment?

• What operating system are you using? Still windows?

• Can you install with the wheel file instead?

yes created a fresh virtual environment, its on windows . its only been a 3 months . haven't tried the wheel yet but will. thanks for reply.
