Resuming annotations after closing the terminal

Hi everyone!

I'm using Prodigy's 3 month trial version, and I'm working with a huge dataset + my own recipe, which combines manual NER and text classification. Also, I need to take some breaks between annotations. The problem is that if I close the browser and log off the server (closing the terminal), and then start a new session using the same dataset and recipe, Prodigy doesn't skip the annotations that have already been done. I've read some of the posts here dealing with this, but none seem to solve the problem or I'm just not smart enough to understand what's going on :frowning:

Thank you for producing such an amazing and interesting tool, and for willing to answer all of our questions. You guys are SO awesome and kind.

Best wishes

Hi! Thanks so much for the kind words, glad you're liking Prodigy so far

Could you try adding "feed_overlap": false to your prodigy.json and see if that resolves the problem? You can find the prodigy.json in a .prodigy directory in user user home, or you can also add a file to your current working directory.

OMG Ines!!! Your answer solved my problem!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! Thank you thank you thank you!!!!!

Yay, glad it worked  We'll be releasing a fix for this with the next version btw so this can't happen anymore, at least not with out-of-the-box config.

Update: Just released v1.10.5, which now defaults feed_overlap to false and should solve this problem :slightly_smiling_face:
