entity linking -- how to search candidates from knowledge base in case insensitive

This is really only about spacy, but I couldn't find a spacy support forum, so apologies that I'm putting it here.

I'm building an entity linking model, and I'm adding aliases to the knowledge base. Is there a way to search for candidates in the knowledge base in a case-insensitive way? Hopefully, without lower casing all of my input text?
